Oh Jesus final projects are killing me. It'll all be cool after this week, I can chill with the homies in Prehistoric Alabama and hunt up some mammoths.
I managed to sneak some doodles in on Thursday, so I'm not all crazy over "Not gone and done drawed nothin for a while." Groove is in the heart.

I AM STILL ALIVE BUT A LITTLE BIT COLD BECAUSE THERE IS A HUGE CRACK UNDERNEITH MY FRONT DOOR, AND NO MATTER WHAT I DO COLD AIR GETS PULLED IN MY FEET ARE DEAD.
I'll have drawings later, and I plan on working on something later that I don't want to talk about till I'm done because specific details equals obligation.

I saw a damn SHAME today. That really tall, athletic looking girl from my 3D Illustration class smoking. Heart breaking.
I made an aside to a guy whom I don't know and probably never will, I said "That's a damn shame." He asks what I meant, and so I point out the smoking girl. "She's so good looking, but the smoking is just too gross, y'know?" He says she's too tall and such for him, I ask what's wrong with tall. He says he doesn't like girls that look like they could beat him up, and says "What, you like girls to whip you around or something?"
So apparently to this guy I will never know, I am some kind of freak. Exaggerated assumptions, man.
But to keep my mind off other things, I have been wondering...is it so weird to most men to be attracted to women that, some way or another, deserve respect? It's those damn gender roles for you right there. If the man is in some kind of 'accomodating' role in a relationship, if he is mostly compliant, then he has no self-respect or is some kind of freeeak. Really, like it's so bad to have a lady in charge, you know? Like its weird to be attracted to women who exude an air of command, or are just in fact unbelievably confident and won't YIELD to others. I really do think it is something that should be [good word for "gotten over"] , but I really doubt it will happen.
Maybe I'm better a person to say "Yeah, a lady could be in charge of me. I don't mind," or maybe I am just shy, hoho. I'd like to think that, but then again, I've been looking around really hard for things to feel good about.

In order to validate this fucking post, this is some classwork from Computer Illustration. I had to take an inanimate object and give it a personality, so as to make a character out of it. I did up a lighter while thinking of The Goon and James Woods.

Okay, so, here is some drawings.
D.O.A. crouching and I guess looking pretty cool I guess. I'm no real judge on that, but I finally drew some shorts so yes. Hem lines have been raised, the meow-meow danger zone has reached RED LEVEL TWO. It's your move, Director! I wrote a bunch of notes and jibberish and song lyrics that I was listening to while drawing it, but they aren't that important!
D.O.A. in blue pencil, a doodle I did in like twentyish minutes I think. I know I heard like, 7 or 8 songs before I got done, so that could be like twenty-one to twenty-five minutes? People say D.O.A. is hot and gross, which is good I guess because that is the point???
D.O.A. in a completely generic stretching pose hohoho. I did this one in the thirty minutes I had to wait on Will to get home so I could use his internet to register my classes for next quarter. I'm pretty sure I need to Pay Back for this one, so expect some meow-meow or some shit in a completely pointless stretch. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EXPLOTATION CHANCE! Lord.
Jan in blue pencil, about two days work there. I'm trying to do more poses that require foreshortening, so as to hurry up and get decent at that sacred technique before I take Life Drawing (in October). I think I didn't do her face 100% right, but I don't mind because everything else came out pretty decent. No the Glove?
Other than that:
- My grades are good.
- Eating well.
- I think I kind of hate Atlanta.
- I really hope B&N hurries up and hires me so I can get internet.
- I need to meet more people.
- Labor Day Weekend will be great I hope.

::UPDATE TO REINFORCE HABIT::
The Pink Panther Strikes Back is great, I might get a job at Barnes and Nobles soon, B&N is TOTALLY delivering the goods in regards to getting me the Samurai Champloo record, and I would draw more if it wern't for all these projects. I have three due on Monday ALONE, and two are for the SAME CLASS WEEE.
Next quarter I am totally taking Life Drawing and Color Theory, and something else.

Post from Library to keep in touch, yes.
Not much has been happening, classes mostly. I have plenty of work to do, so I haven't had much time to do any recreational drawrin, but I hope to catch up on that over the weekend.
As far as the job hunt goes, I put in an app at Barnes and Nobles', but I don't think anything will come from THAT. I also put in a request slip in the Career Service office, but they lost it so I had to put in another one. I'll get apps from them tommorow, I hope, nyarhar.
Beat a guy at cards yesterday, he gave me a stack of cards he never used in return. I know, I am huge dork hahaha.
I'll have my computer cables and a Flash Drive by Monday, so I'll be able to post up some arts when I do some. I'm playing around with inks and huge photo books of graffiti, so I may do something with THAT.

The new Willy Wonka motion picture show is the most ridiculous thing I've put my eyes on this year, and they even showed the King Kong trailer before it. Oh Peter Jackson, you directed Dead and Alive, and I for one will never forget that.

I have a good load of arts building up, seriosly. When I get a scanner it will be like some kind of shotgun to the face, but instead of painful painful low-penetration birdshot (for self-defense) it will be painful painful mediocre drawings of ladies and probably Sami from Advance Wars, and probably that girl from P.N.03! I need to draw more men that are not also cats and wearing shirts and/or pants of substansial length! What is wrong with me! |

Well well, I go to Baltimore on Wensday, so that's the end of that. I might have SOMETHING like an internet access up there, so I will let everyone know that I did not DIE en route. You may not be worried about that, but the possibility of mishap is always heavy on my mind during the actual "travel" portion of a trip.
We'll be back on that following Tuesday, the 5th. So I'll probably have a LITTLE more time before Atlanta, yarr.
Anyways, on to much more interesting things!
I think I put all of my faith into a literary movement where Godzilla is sited as a proto-work. The inferno that we unleash will ultimately return to krush us all. I have a strong desire to devote myself fully to making stuff that can fit into this genre.
MasaMania is awesome. I can't always understand the rambling Engrish (sometimes I have trouble understanding rambling English), but damn if there aren't tons of awesome photos. In his blog, the guy who runs the site (who is apparently an ex-porno director in Tokyo) says "I hope I can show and tell you the real, true Japan that cannot be seen in other mas media." Some of my favorite entries are Japanese business man spend valuable time and Violence, Diving, Shouting! Japanese Punk rock live A warning to those puppies who use dial-up: This crap will take a long time to load, but it may be worth it.
On the other side of culture in Japan, non-Japanese magazine writer Jean Snow also lives in Tokyo and writes about the popular culture in the city. Not as frantic as MasaMania, but hey, more content. This site is also nicer to dial-up sexies, I'd imagine.
In other news, I hope Jim Pearsons does that "art colony" thing again. I just realized that kids are "alright" when you're talking to them about drawing dinosaurs. |

So, instead of watching Lost I did some practice writing. Trying to get used to this "WRITING" idea, you know? I decided to type up a little entry about Odevia Liosstro, a certian person from another certian idea that I like alot.
I'm really only posting it up here to get used to the idea of having people read stuff I write, so...yes. If you choose to look at it (not like you have to), be forewarned that I haven't made an attempt to write anything in like, five years or so.
Badly formed sentences, misplaced commas, and deviation from established TENSE (or whatever) are probably all over the place. (And if you notice something like that, please tell me. I'd like to work on that stuff, you see.) Also, footnotes, because...it's fun to be able to add little bits that can't fit into the rest. So wonderful! Anyways....

I am only posting this so I can read "Cold Metal, Hot Lovin'" again. Don't ask for anymore because all the original files were deleted, the floppy discs magnetized, and the second guilty party has kinda drifted off on his own thing (or am I the drifter? blurg).
Besides, its not like what you do in highschool matters, unless you like...kill somebody or something. Then that's still pretty big.
